Our next Volunteer Preparation Course will be running as a one week ‘Summer School’ from 22nd – 26th August!
Once trained our volunteers will be matched with families who have been referred to us for support – for a diverse range of problems including isolation, physical and mental illness, multiple births, drug and alcohol problems, poverty, domestic violence, redundancy, unemployment, homelessness, family breakdown.
Could you help? Could you spare a couple of hours a week to help a family with young children who is finding life tough? Normally our volunteers are parents themselves so they understand how difficult family life can be. As well as being sympathetic to the struggle our volunteers are also able to bring moments of great joy to a family’s life. Could you help parents and children take time to make a daisy chain; play in the sand; jump in muddy puddles; sing nursery rhymes; fly a kite; laugh together?
If you have a few hours a week to spare and you have parenting experience, please give us a call to find out more!
