There are several ways that you can help Home-Start Meon Valley in a voluntary capacity:
- by supporting a family as a home visiting volunteer
- by helping to raise funds for us
- by joining the Trustee Board
Home-Start Meon Valley’s home visiting volunteers come from many different backgrounds and vary in age but all are either parents themselves or have parenting experience and are carefully selected for their friendliness and understanding. All volunteers attend a 40 hour preparation course, undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide two references before being matched with a family. They then take their own individual skills and experience to the families they visit. Our volunteers offer their time and commitment and are non-judgemental. If you would be interested to learn more please do use the link below for more information.
Prep Courses for new volunteers are run throughout the year on a regular basis. Please contact Hayley or Laura, the co-ordinators if you would like to be considered for the next course and to talk about all aspects of volunteering for Home-Start Meon Valley.
Home Start Meon Valley has a Trustee Board involving local people from a wide range of backgrounds such as social care, accountancy, human resources, law and small businesses. The main requirements of a trustee is to have a real interest in the work we undertake and a willingness to be actively involved in the running of the Charity. The Trustee Board is responsible for the financial security of the organisation and ensures its strong governance. If you are are able to help us in any way please contact us.
Home Start Meon Valley also has a team of Ambassadors who help to publicise our services around the local area. If you are able to spare a couple of hours a month putting up posters, giving out leaflets, manning a (very) occasional stand, and generally letting people know about the work we do please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
